What is hypnotherapy and hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a changed state of awareness and increased relaxation that allows for improved focus and concentration. Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice that uses guided hypnosis to help a client reach a trance-like state of focus, concentration, diminished peripheral awareness, and heightened suggestibility. The purpose of hypnotherapy is to reprogram the subconscious mind.
