Michele Ater, LPC, ACS, CCHT

(She/her/hers)

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Therapist (LPC) specializing in trauma and anxiety mental health counseling. My passion lies in providing individuals with a safe and empathetic space to navigate their healing journey and overcome challenges related to trauma and anxiety. As an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), I also devote my time to mentoring and shaping the next generation of mental health professionals.

In addition to my clinical expertise, I am a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCHT). I believe in innovative and integrative approaches to mental health treatment, leveraging psychedelics and hypnotherapy to unlock transformative healing experiences for my clients.

As a Reiki Master/Teacher, I also integrate holistic wellness practices into both my personal and professional life. Balancing the art and science of mental health therapy with an understanding of operations and energy healing, I strive to create a holistic approach to well-being that encompasses mind, body, and spirit.

That might sound like too much!  Let me reframe that… I have a toolbox full of really cool tools to help you customize a plan to best support you based on what you are going through.  No one is the same so putting together a PERSONALIZED focus of growth and healing is a collaborative experience and that’s what makes my brand of therapy different.  We will find core issues and empower the present and future you for strength, positive decision making, and life experiences.

I strive to create a strong and open client / therapist relationship to develop trust and safety levels to help facilitate your healing and growth. Let’s do this! It’s time to take the step forward to the best and strongest SELF you can be. Your meaning, value, purpose and awareness are ready to be developed and experienced.

FAQ

  • Psychedelic therapy is an emergent healing modality that pairs substances, guided support, and the therapeutic environment to promote healing and personal insight.

We believe in you and your innate ability to heal. Often, that ability can feel diminished due to past experiences, traumas, and learned patterns. Our aim is to serve as a support alongside you, with the psychedelic medicine working as a catalyst to open up access to healing that may have been previously less accessible.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a well-established psychological therapy. It is practiced by thousands of therapists worldwide and there is extensive research evidence demonstrating that is an effective form of treatment for a huge variety of problems. The ‘CBT way’ of understanding emotions says that what we feel is a result of what we think and how we act. It suggests that if our goal is to manage how we are feeling then we will need to make changes in our thinking and behavior. CBT has a repertoire of techniques for exploring and changing the ways we think and act.

ACT is a more recent branch within the CBT ‘family’ of therapies, and it takes a different stance towards emotion. ACT’s position is that problems occur when our emotions, or our attempts to control them, get in the way of us living a life in accordance with our values. A ‘valued life’ is one that we find personally meaningful, but our struggles with emotions often mean that we ‘drift off course’. ACT puts a different emphasis on what is important (living a meaningful life rather than regulating how I feel). The focus of work in ACT is in “facilitating individuals to more towards a more valued and personally fulfilling life, in a context in which previously obstructive unpleasant emotions no longer serve as obstructions” ACT therapists often use metaphors that invite people to take control of the direction of their lives, like ‘driving your own bus’ or ‘sailing your own ship’.

  • An hour long session that balances your energies for a sense of feeling “complete” and grounded. This is part of the overall wellness when we look at energetic, physical, mental and emotional well-being.

  • I work with you in a theta state for regression therapy (trauma informed), past life healing, 2-way conversing and communication development, smoking cessation, phobia and fears, weight control and overall conscious and unconscious healing.
