Professional Coaching

Alex Renalds M.Ed, CPC

I'm in the business of people! With over 12 years combined of coaching, mentoring, managing, educating and bartending, I've learned how to connect with humans of all backgrounds. I have a passion for making others feel valued and championing them throughout their various life journeys, while also supporting them through challenges. In addition to coaching with Origin, I am also a coach in the Ed Tech world, helping leaders reach their goals! I’m originally from Washington, DC and have lived in CO for five years with my significant other and our two fur babies. I love the outdoors, live music, festivals, cooking and my hip hop step class out of Atlanta!

My Philosophy…

You are a whole person who wears many hats! Together, we will honor and celebrate the full YOU- your experiences, identities, relationships, goals, and dreams. Your life is your story, and I’m here to help you craft the story you want to live and tell. As a team, we work together to identify what you want for your life and the action steps to get there, including how to remove or lessen challenges and barriers to your success. Together, we can create a path for the change you want to make, and the greatest results will come from your willingness to commit to change. THAT is why it works and why it’s so powerful! You are the one flying the plane, I’m the one helping you create the flight plan. If you’re unsure about what change you’d like to make or about setting a goal, we can always have fun discovering - just be you!

What is professional coaching?

Coaches are here to support and champion the client by providing a space and framework for achievement. Coaches work with clients to move them from the present to a desired future state by purposefully changing thoughts and behaviors. It is designed to provide individuals with a supportive and empowering environment in which they can work on personal growth, emotional well-being, and overcoming various challenges.

FAQ

  • Your coach provides a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to sort through your thoughts, emotions, action plans and outcomes.

Your coach provides a structure for you while you are in pursuit of your goals and objectives.

Your coach holds you accountable for moving toward your goals and executing your action plans.

Your coach also ensures you celebrate – yourself, your wins, the steps you take, each time to get back up and try again.

  • This can be a broad vision that needs to be broken down into smaller steps or it can be a single goal or objective.  Some clients work on 2-3 goals at a time.  More is not recommended as it challenges ones ability to focus and prioritize.

A minimum of 5-6 bi-weekly sessions is recommended. These sessions usually are about an hour. It is very dependent on what you want to accomplish and how quickly.

  • The topics clients bring into coaching run a wide range.  Some examples:  I want to get a promotion, I want to be happier, I want to be less stressed, I want to be more motivated, I want a better relationship.  The topic is largely about where the client wants to move to in the future.  Don’t worry if your vision isn’t overly detailed – that work is done during the coaching process.

Coaches are not meant to be mentors or therapists.
